This magnificent 535-acre nature sanctuary in Sonoma County features diverse oak woodlands, mixed evergreen forest, riparian and chaparral ecosystems and is known for its amazing spring wildflower displays.

Bouverie Preserve is home to a rich and distinct combination of plants and animals, including more than 130 species of birds, 350 species of flowering plants, and numerous large mammals such as the bobcat, gray fox, coyote and mountain lion.

The Bouverie Preserve welcomes members of the public to experience the preserve during one of our weekend Guided Nature Walks. Scheduled on select Saturdays in the spring and fall, Guided Nature Walks explore the best that Bouverie Preserve has to offer—from Bouverie history to birdwatching, wildflowers to waterfalls.

The walks are led by an experienced Bouverie docent, and participants are divided into small groups based on hiking abilities and interests. The hikes begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m., typically covering about three miles. Children are welcome, but should be able to hike the full distance and remain on the trail for four hours.
